The Tea Belles story

It all began with (previously HRH) Harry and Meghan’s wedding…

Our invites never arrived (we reckon they got lost in the post).

We wanted to celebrate with a traditional High Tea in one of Sydney’s finest venues, followed by cocktails and bubbles at a bar to watch the wedding on TV.

Well…you know how it is. Some of our girls couldn’t make the allocated time. Budgets were blowing out. Babysitting was uncertain. It became really stressful trying to find somewhere that suited everyone’s needs.

The idea sparked…

We love to bake. We have plenty of tea. We’ve been to the very finest Afternoon Teas London has to offer…why not re-create it ourselves at home?

No time limits, dressing up optional but comfort guaranteed; and a couple of bottles of bubbles wouldn’t blow the budget.

We set a table with our pretty teaware and silver, a cardboard tiered stand (because who has the real thing just hanging about!), and borrowed teapots.

We baked up waaaaay too many of our favourite treats. We laughed, we took pics, we bonded over tea flavours and took sides on sweet or savoury. We had the time to simply be, in a relaxed yet somehow luxe setting.

Yep. We burnt the shortbread tiaras….and possibly over-catered for 6 people!

(Afterwards, we may have kicked off our heels and watched the wedding with eleventyfour bottles of bubbles, cheese platters and all the leftovers).

The next day the girls’ texts said: That was special. You should open a biz doing this.

We loved it so much, we did!

We can’t wait to bring you the magic of a High Tea Experience.
